The color and style is fantastic. It really fit into my retro decor and color scheme. However, from the first time I used it it seemed to be somewhat rickety. The more I used it, the wobblier it got, and this being after only a few uses. I am not sure if all are constructed the same way or mine was just the dud that did not get properly put together and tightened, but I use this sparingly because of the fear of it completely falling apart...which kind of defeats the purpose of buying it to help me in the first place.
Great Looking Step-Stool! Very hard to put together, thank goodness for hubby and his tools. Not as sturdy as we expected. The steps slide around while moving the stool. The brackets that the "step" slides in and out are made of plastic with a little node that slides in the slot. One wrong move and the plastic was broken.
We were looking for a retro step-stool that I could reach the top cabinets and that we could use as an extra chair for the babies. This works great as the extra chair, but the instructions advise against stepping or standing on the seat. Kind of useless for those top cabinets. We finally found an old one at an antique store.
If you do not need the height, this is a great piece. I'm giving it a less than stellar rating because of the difficulty to put it together, the plastic parts, and not being able to stand on the seat.
